Looking Deep Inside

I lift up my soul to You
To see it in thine light my Lord
it does look good and well in my sight
but how does it look to You, in your righteousness
and judgement?
You do see it deep inside
whatever is buried underneath
where no human eyes can penetrate
to see its true ugly state

On the surface, pretty and perfect
calm and smooth to trick any looker
But how does it respond
when it is trampled, rejected or ridiculed
will it be  graceful, and forgiving
in the deepest and hidden part of my heart
which no one could see
Or would it raise its ugly hood
hissing and spurting the venom of
vengence despite the outward pretence
of calm and compose.

Help me Lord to see myself deep inside
as You see it
so that in Your grace
let my soul be pure at all circumstances.

A Candle, Burning for Thee

Let me be a candle
Shining bright from my little corner
Lighting the space around me
Let me sweep away the darkness that surround the place

I do not long to be the star that brightens the sky
Nor do I yearn to be the silvery moon 
that rolls away the waves by its magnetic spell
Nor do I desire to be the beacon that shines its light afar
by standing so tall atop a hill or on a raving sea's edge


A simple candle burning bright and fragrant for Thee
Wherever You may have placed me to be
At home...at work and any other place may be
Let me bring out the fragrance of Christ's love
by the words I speak  and write
And by the genuine love I show towards others.  

Knowing the Lord

You have known me Lord
From the moment I took shape in my mother's womb
I am learning to know You, my Lord
from the time I gave my heart to You for safe-keeping.

You have known me Lord from inside out
From the deepest corner of my heart
to the shy and smiling face the world outside see
I have known You Lord as my hope and strength
Joy and love of my heart

You have known me Lord as Your child
sheep, follower and the pen in Your hand
I have known You Lord as my guide
Inspiration and Author of my life

You have known me Lord -weak
fearful, doubting and wrong many a times
I have known You Lord-kind
faithful, compassionate and understanding
at those times.

You have known me Lord as I am
in my best and the worst
I have known You my Lord always
Trustworthy, Almighty and Agape in Your love!

What Have we Done?

Oh, Mighty God, Giver of Life
Awesome is Your name
Almighty is Your power
Justice is your heartbeat
Mercy is your love song

What a beautiful world You made this earth to be
How much joy You wanted us to have indwelling in it
What a pity and how badly we have messed it up
 fresh air turned  polluted
lush fruits lost their sweetness
All in the name of advancement
we have turned beauty into chaos to our regret

Father,we've become so dumb
To choose right from wrong,we have forgotten
Somewhere along the way.
The good old path and the good old wisdom
No more delight our hearts
And no one care for the well being of this earth
Nor for the neighbor who lives down the lane anymore.
  

Singing of Your faithfulness

I will sing of Your great love forever
With my mouth I will make known Your faithfulness
through all generations
I will declare that Your are so trustworthy and no one
who trusts in You will be abandoned at any time
That doesn't promise we won't face hardships and challenges in life
As any other, we too will go through ups and downs in life.
 Your hand will always will be there to take us through
the shadows of valley of death and wilderness of dried up lands
It's at this time, the joy of the Lord becomes my strength
And the comfort of Your presence become my shield
Lead me on my Lord till the end of my years
Guard me from deceptions and guide me in Thine grace.

Lord,
You are my strength and my shield

My heart trusts in You and I'm always helped

My heart rejoices greatly in knowing You

And I will raise my praises in songs and prayers.

To the end of my days, may I sing Your praises and not be silent

O Lord, my precious One, I will give thanks to You forever.

Thanking You for this Day

It's my birthday today, my Lord
A day to celebrate, a day to worship
And a day to thank you for blessing me to see this day.

As I knelt down to talk to You this morning
Words refused to come
but tears came down instead
Heart overwhelmed with gratitude
found no words perfect to express

You called me Your own when I was young
Never did You leave me at any desperate hourI thank You my Lord for the
 In my joy and sorrows
Laughter and tears 
You stood beside me
And watched me walk in Your grace
No one other than You
Have loved me as You do day after day

I thank You Lord with all my heart
for Your  faithfulness and mercy all my life
Take my hand and guide me
 for the rest of my years on this earth.
