Thanksgiving

It is Thanksgiving Day my Lord, here in America
It's the day allotted for families to get together
And to thank You, God Almighty
for all the providence and protection
You have given them over the year.

Even though a day is set apart to celebrate for this purpose
Each day I consider to be a Thanksgiving Day
For each day we've got so many things to be thankful
The sun to rise and the moon to shine
The water to drink and the food that we eat
The ability to walk, work and do whatever we want
The love of the family and the provision of medical care
The freedom to speak, pray and worship
All these things and many more
We need to be thankful every day

Nothing we can take it for granted
for we do not know, when and where
these can be taken away from us
We see people from far and wide
lacking food, shelter and family
And freedom to speak and worship

Those of us who are blessed to have
are called to bless those who have nots
And lend a hand to help and support
So, let us be thankful for everything we have
And live a life of gratitude,not only on a
day like this Thanksgiving Day
but every day we have on this earth
for You are worthy to be worshipped
and be thanked each and every day .

Praising the Lord

Lord, I will bless You at all times
Morning, evening and in my sleep
Let Your praise be continually on my tongue
And my mouth make boast of You everyday

Oh, magnify the Lord with me
Glory in His holy name
Let us bow before Him and worship
Let us worship Him with gladness
For He is worthy to be praised forever

Rest in the Lord and worry no more of tomorrow
Be thankful for today and enjoy what God has given
For the food we eat, the clothes we put on
the house we live in and the work we do
the family and friends to love and care.
For all the beauty around to see

Let's count our blessings and be a blessing for someone today
Each day is a God given gift, so lets rejoice and be glad in it
Praise the Lord and thank Him for each day
Praise Him with all your heart, soul and mind.

As I open my eyes today

As it dawns to another new day
I open my eyes to thank You
and  to focus my thought first on you alone
Help me to quiet my mind and to be still in Your presence
To  know You, to love You
And to thank You for all Your goodness and mercy

This is the day You've made
And let me be glad and rejoice I'm in it
Let me be the reflection of Your love
wherever I go and whatever I do on this day
Lord, let me open my heart to receive Your light
The power of Your Holy Spirit
And the  wisdom of His knowledge
to live this day to its fullness.

Let the law of kindness be on my tongue
And truth and righteousness be my armor
Let my soul continue to boast of th Lord
and glorify Him at all times.
Let my eyes take full note of every kind gesture
the beauty of God's creation and the face of Christ
on every human being I come across today

Help me to cast away all negative thoughts
And not give into any fear or doubt
Because You had been my help
let me walk with confidence in You strength
Thank You for the gift of this day
And thank You for the beauty of the world around me
And the love and care of people around me today.

I thank You for this day, my Lord

This is the day You've made , my Lord
Let me rejoice and be glad in it.
Each day is truly a gift from You
Let me embrace it with gratefulness
And walk in it with great expectation.

I may not know what this day brings
Sunshine or thunderstorm I cannot predict
But I know one thing for sure
that You're with me
And I don't need to fear

You're my sun and shield
You give me grace and glory
You protect me from harm
And You shield me from evil
You leadeth me in the path of righteousness
for Your name sake
And I pray that I don't grieve You
by any of my doing today.

I thank You this day for Your mercy
And praise You for all your goodness and faithfulness
Let me walk this day with a new song in my heart
And kindness lighting my eyes
so that others could get  a glimpse of You in me today.

Open my eyes Lord,

Open my eyes Lord, to see the beauty around me
the vast blue sky above
 the magnificient rise of the sun every morning
the loveliness of dark night sky with sparkling dust of stars strewn around
And the tiny white flowers spread along my  path
Open my eyes to see the beauty of the branches of the leafless tree ahead
How hopeful and triumph it awaits for spring to come to be full of leaves again

Awaken my ears Lord, to hear the sound of waves crashing on the beach
the call of the sea gulls and  the sweet chatter of little birds on the tree
Help me to listen to the whisper of the wind
the  clap of trees, and the buzz of bees
Let me hear all what  You want me to hear
And see what You want me to see
Let me not take anything for granted
but cherish and be thankful for everything You've created.

O Woman of Little Faith

O woman of little faith,
Has the Lord ever failed you?
When trouble and trials come your way
Why do you panic and tend to forget His goodness.


Have you forgotten how He has led you
How He walked ahead and paved the way for you to follow
Have you so easily forgotten the storms He stopped
And the clouds He cleared and the sunshine He brought to your path.


O woman of little faith
Look at the past if you're in doubt
Know that the One who helped you then
He is sure to help you now too.


Be still and know that He's God
How it must wound His gracious heart
To see your worried face and anxious brow
In the days of trouble and uncertainties.


Oh,have faith in the Lord, poor woman
Doubt Him not any longer, for it grieves His heart
Commit your way unto the Lord
And trust Him with all your heart all the way!

It's Your Grace, Lord!

It's my daughter's birthday today, my Lord
Twenty four years back, You gifted her to me
She came two months early, a tiny baby, barely weighing four pounds
I couldn't even hold her in my hand to caress and kiss her face
Wrapped up in tubes and cushioned inside a small incubator
they brought her to show me and wheeled her back in a hurry
to another hospital to give her a better neo-natal care.
The doctor gave me forty eight hours to make sure
she'd pulled it through or not.
She's a girl, a fighter, so don't worry, he comforted me

I was shaken, broken and cracked open
What would I do?
How would I bear to see my little one suffer?
I sought no help, but You, you alone
I bathed Your feet with my tears
Wailed in fear day and night

You, in Your mercy may have looked at me with pity
"O woman of little faith, why are you so fearful?'
you may have said with a smile on Your face.
You, who holds our furture in our hands
Knew it well, then,and now what's out there
for my baby in the future.
You had drawn out her plan in the palm of Your hand
And it would have looked silly to see me cry and panic in vain
Me, who profess to have faith, acting like one who doesn't believe
By my fear, I may have even grieved You a lot
But, You who understands a mother's heart
Kept on giving me comfort and grace through out those years.

Today, when I see my daughter, my heart rejoices with pride
How beautiful and lovely woman, she has grown
And how much love and joy she has brought to me and others.
It's all Your grace my Lord, it's all Your grace.
She's your gift to us, and I pray that we've done a good job with her
By bringing up in the faith and grooming her with love and intergrity.
On this day of her birthday, I pray that You'll bless her with all blessings
So that she'll become a blessing to all around her.
Shield her with Your preotection, guide her in Your path
Teach her Your ways and empower her with Your spirit for Your purpose.

Isn't Knowing God Eternal Life?

Eternal God
We are so blessed to come to know You
Through Your Son Jesus Christ
Who has promised us eternal life
If we abide in Him and He in us.

Is Eternal life, a ticket to heaven
As we believe, brag and take content?
Or is it much more than that
Which our human mind cannot comprehend to explain?

Apostle John in his gospel -chapter 17:3
Has written," Now this is eternal life
that they may know You the only
True God and Jesus Christ, Your Son.

If that's what it truly means
Our eternal life begins here on earth
From the time we got saved from eternal death
And made Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

It does mean that we don't need to wait to go to heaven
To have the blessing of eternal life.
If knowing God and Christ is eternal life
Then it starts here, where I live
Knowing God and rejoicing in His presence
We can do it here on earth
Continue to do it up in heaven .
The only difference, we will be
Flat on our faces before the Lord on theWhite Throne
Singing Hallelujah along with throng of angels.

Lord, You be in charge of my life

Lord,
I thank You for making me belong to You
I thank You that You know what today and tomorrow hold for me
I pray that You'll use me today for Your glory
In a small or big way as it pleases You.

I pray that I'll yield myself for You to shine through me
So that someone will be blessed in someway.
Cleanse me Lord, from everything that
Hinder my fellowship with You
Fill me with Thy spirit today so that
You, not me, be in the control tower of my daily life.

Come to Our Rescue, Lord

Once again we are standing at the edge of the cliff, Lord
Waiting for You to come and rescue us.
It's the same old, same old cycle
Anxiety sets in, what if's? keep us awake at night
We pray, plead and await in faith
For we know no other way.

And, then You show up as always
Not surprisingly at the very last moment
When all around looks so bleak
And hope is almost threatening to pull away.
It's at that time, You choose to step in
Not anytime earlier or a day later
Maybe it's Your amusing way of parenting
Teaching us to trust You all the way.

I've yet to see a time You've failed to show up
No, never have You done that
For it's not Your style, nor Your character.
Delays-maybe. No's at times
But everytime, You've proven to be trusted
Our road back in the review mirror does tell us so.

So, here we are Lord, waiting for You to show up
Help us and lead us, for we seek no other help
Yours is the best and the very best for us
Heed to our heart cry and hear our sighs and pleas
Come to our aid, Sovereign Lord
Come to rescue us and bless us grow and prosper in our work.

Was it worth, my Lord?

King of kings, Lord of lords
Who left Your throne in heaven
And came down to save sinners like me.
You, the Son of God-the righteous One
You stood bound and silent, a  crown of thorns on head
Slapped, mocked and bleeding
Standing before Pilate-a mere governer of Rome.

If thou willed, an army of angels would have come to your rescue
Yet, You chose the hard way, the path of a painful Cross
And drank the cup of obedience to the will of Your Father.
The One who rides in a white horse, jewelled crown on Your head
And hailed by multitude of angels day and night in heaven
Rode on a donkey to the shouts of men to Jerusalem
And heard the mockering of many on Your way to Golgotha.

Why Lord? Why?
Why did You choose to suffer for us, the humankind
Was it worth that suffering for such undeserving
Who doubt and question You and Your words even today.
You showed the way of love and life
But we prefer to choose our own ways.
Churches are growing, Bibles are being read
Yet, are we living the way You want us to live?

Was it worth my Lord, was it worth the suffering
You endured to save a rebellious world like ours?

Descend Upon Me, Holy Spirit

Spirit of Sovereign God, descend on me
Cleanse me from pride and fear
Deliver me from doubt and self-righteousness
And save me from falling into any temptation.

Instill a steadfast spirit in me
Cast me not away from Your presence
Search me and see whether there's any
wrong intent and ugly thoughts in me

Create a clean heart within me, Merciful God
Make me love and honor You as long as I live
Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning
And make me go to sleep at night thanking You
for everything and every person You brought in contact that day.

Are You Grieving Lord ?

What's Your grievance today, my Lord?
What is it that's breaking Your heart?
Is it poverty that's seen globally
Or is it injustice and inequality
Or the complacency of today's culture?

Or is it us, the Christians
who have let you down so badly?
We, who have become so busy running Your work
with our own plans and agenda
And having less or no time to sit with You
to know Your heart and to follow Your guidance.

You sent Your disciples, two by two
to cities and villages to preach
with no certainty of place to stay
no provision of cash or clothes to take
That was Your way
the Kingdom way of teaching
to trust and obey.

Are You saddened by the way we minister
the way we live and the choices we make
Have we put You aside and run to You only
when we are in trouble?
Have we lost our sight to see Your point of view
Have we lost the power to heal the sick and cast out the devil?
O Lord, have we lost the annointing of the Spirit
to be the light and salt of the earth?

Strike us Lord, if You need to
Strike us in Your mercy
Bring us back to the altar to repent
And to renew our committments and serve You the way You desire.
Empower us Lord, to walk in victory
And to be the Salt and Light to the world around us!

Holy and Beloved (Colossions 3:12)

What is this Lord?
What is this?
Apostle Paul called us,those who put their trust in You,
Holy and Beloved!
Yes, that's what He called us.

Oh, how wonderful that sounds
to be called, the elect of God
And how esteemed are we to be
called with such honor.

Yes, the honor comes with some demands
Demand to love and to forgive
Demand to bear with each other
and to put on the cloak of
humility, kindness and patience.

If prayer and praise become our daily offering
and the Word of God, our daily bread
Wisdom and knowledge would guide us through
And life no more becomes a battle ground to walk through.

Oh how wonderful to be called, the elect of God
How awesome would be to live Holy and loved
If you and I could live as Christ preached
why need preachers, and why need evangelinsts?
That's our call my friends, that's our service to the Lord
To live by faith and to witness in love and power!

In His Presence

In His presence, I stand awed
In His presence, I feel so secure
In His presence, I want nothing else
Oh,in His presence, I simply become a child

How foolish can I ever be
how wasted my life could be
if I choose not to be in His presence
but spent hours on other things
that prove to be worthless at the end.

Vanity, vanity, all is vanity
So, sang King Solomon, the wisest
who had it all for power, pleasure and treasure
Yet, contentment was out of his reach
until he came to his conclusion
It's only in our desire to seek God's presence
And in our delight to do His
fulfillment is guaranteed for sure.

Help Me to See with Your Perspective

Lord,

Help me to see things from Your point of view
Otherwise I'm prone to ask why, why and why?
I'll be blind for sure, if You don't give me the sight
Sight to see from Your perspective, not mine.

If I see as You do, I'll truly start to live
for I'll learn to see the silver lining even in the darkest hour
When everything else seems so hopeless
And victory seems far away
I would stand unmoved and fear no more.

That is the key to Abundant life
that's the secret to have Peace and Joy
If only I could see life from the Kingdom's point of view
And have the heart to love as You want me to love.
And Joy and Peace would sure to follow me around.

Lord, I'm Nothing Without You

Lord, I worth nothing without You
And I don't desire to be anything without you
Who I am and where I am today
I owe You to Your grace, my Lord.

Life could have taken a wrong turn for me
If You haven't showed up in my life
Still waters and green pasteurs You've taken me to at times
Dark valleys and dry deserts you allowed me to walk through other times
Yet, I could always sense Your presence near me
whispering a word of comfort or lending a hand for support

So, today, if I hear the thunder of troubles drawing near
Or thistles of worry keep me down
I tell myself to look back on the past and to remember
that You are in charge,and not me

Oh Lord, where I'd be today without You
And who I would have become if not for Your grace
So, I extol You for choosing me to be Your own
and showing me the way to the Father's throne.

What a Beautiful world, what an amzing love!

What a great Almighty God, the El Elyon
who He is, He was and who will be
in His mighty power, in His agape love
And in His justice and faithfulness.
I will magnify the Lord with thanksgiving
I will praise Him for who He is forever

In much love for us,who are mere human beings
He created such a beautiful world to live
with fruits and flowers of all kind and color
a vast blue sky above and an azur oceon around
with schools of fish and mighty sharks to rule the sea
Birds to sing and lions to roar
with sheeps to give wool
and cows to provide milk
herbs for cure and streams to quench thirst
Oh, how much love God must have had
When He made the world for you and me

Oh, what a beautiful world God made for us with so much care
And how thankful you and I need to be to such an awesome God
Yes, I will praise,
And I will thank
for the gift of this world and for the love of my God!

Thanking for the Pain and Problems

I thank You Lord for my tears
I thank You for the thorns and pain in my path
I also thank You for the "No"s and delays to my prayers
and the failures and detour of plans in my life.
I thank You for keeping me almost on the edge at times
with no promise of flight or certainty of anything in sight.

I do honestly thank You for all the above
for without them
I would have not come to know You closer as I do now

Experiencing pain and problem is no child play.
It surely hurts and causes me to cry and question
But if I choose to persevere and pray
and seek Your face for wisdom and strength
the things that seems to crush me under
would soon turn out to be the rungs of the ladder I stand on
to reach the purpose You've in mind for me
and to make me climb towards You in heaven.

Lord, Teach Me to Pray

Lord, teach me to pray
Teach me how to pray
What to pray
And for whom to pray for
It's You and no one else
Know me as I am
What I need and why I'm here for

Unless I know You much closer
I'll never have a clue
What I truly need
What I should do
Or which way I need to go

Because You know me inside out
And love and care for me as I am
I desire to do more of Your will than mine.
If left to do my very own will
I'll be like a little ship in a vast ocean
With no direction in sight
And no anchor to lean on
I'll be tossed and swirled with no purpose

So, my Lord and Master
Teach me what to pray
so that my wants and needs set aside
I'll seek Your will
And follow Your lead
Now and forever more.

Song of my Heart

O Lord, You are my Sun and Shield,
the only true God worthy of worship
My soul thirsts for You
My whole being longs for your presence

Waken me morning by morning
to seek Your face in the early hours of dawn
And be with You alone with no disturbance around.
Just You and me in holy silence
Let it be the Beersheba I meet with You
With no worries of mine to spoil the joy of Your presence

You, the Lord of lords on the throne
Me, thy bondservant at Your feet
Oh, what a precious time that could ever be
For You to speak and me to listen.

Because Your loving kindness is better than life
Let praises pour out from my heart as long as I live
As I walk, talk and continue my days
You be my Guide and center of my life.
